Study on the Depression, Cognitive Dysfunction according to Degree of Physical Activity or Exercise

Abstract
Objective : This study used raw data from the Community Health Survey to investigate information on the actual state of physical activity and the experience of depression and cognitive impairment in the elderly population, and through these quantitative study, will establish a clinically objective basis for the prevention of depression and cognitive dysfunction and provide it as a basis for the development of arbitration.

Methods : The tools used in the study were analyzed using raw data from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency¡¯s 2019 Community Health Survey. Only data aged 60 and over were selected for analysis, and finally the data of 98,922 people were analyzed, and the type and practice rate of physical activity according to the demographic characteristics of the subjects, and whether or not they experienced depressive and cogntivie dysfunction symptoms, correlations between physical activity, depression and cognitive dysfunction.

Results : Using the results of the analysis, confirmed that the physical activity practice rate of the elderly population was very low, and that the younger the age, the higher the physical activity practice rate. Also confirmed that there were changes in depression and cognitive function based on the physical activity practice rate.

Conclusion : Therefore, in this study, it is boring to be used as an objective basis for clinical intervention for depression and cognitive dysfunction in the elderly and as a basis for future arbitration development.
